Director of Student Advocacy & Support

I serve as the Director of Student Advocacy and Support after previously serving as the Director of Academic Support and Accessibility Services at the Bryan College of Health Sciences. My earlier experiences at UNL included positions in Undergraduate Education with the William H. Thompson Scholars Learning Community and the College of Arts and Sciences. A two-time alumna of UNL, I hold a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Psychology and English and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and Leadership. I am passionate about supporting students holistically, with particular interest in equity and access, college transition programming, student development theory and proactive student support. Originally from Omaha, I now call Lincoln home with my husband, Alex, and our two cats, Ike and Ruby.

Case Manager

I first discovered a love for helping students while serving as a Resident Assistant in Sandoz Hall here at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. From that point forward, I knew that I wanted to work with students in a university setting. After completing my master’s degree in Educational Psychology, I left UNL and held various positions in residence life at different universities around the country. Since returning to UNL, I have worked in Residence Life, the Dean of Students Office, Student Conduct & Community Standards and, currently, in Student Advocacy & Support.

College is challenging and success looks different for every student. Sometimes an individual needs help and assistance to get through a difficult time and to find their path. It’s always a privilege to listen to a student’s concerns, discuss options and support them as they pick their next steps.
