Student Advocacy and Support helps graduate students navigate conflict using a student-centered approach focused on creating pathways to resolve conflict, empower self-advocacy, and develop skills essential to difficulty conversations.
SAS supports by
- Providing private one on one conversations
- Strategizing solutions to resolve a conflict
- Advocating on the students behalf if requested
- Explaining students options and rights under University policy and procedures
SAS does not
- Mediate or facilitate conversations
- Overturn university decisions
- Give legal or counseling advice
- Receive notice for the university
- Receive or address official complaints and grievances about UNL
How it works:
- Complete the Conflict Support Request Form
- A SAS case manager will review your request
- A SAS case manager will contact you through your UNL email to schedule a meeting
- You will complete the Conflict Support Intake Form prior to your meeting
- You will complete your conflict support meeting
- Your case manager will follow up with you a week after your meeting to check in
